Grandparents and great-grandparents from all over the world came to spend quality time with their grandchildren. Family members traveled from as far as Mexico and even Romania for this special event with their loved ones. There were grandparents from all around the Lubbock area including Levelland, Slaton, Lamesa, Abernathy, Plainview, Idalou, Post and more. Some grandparents came in from out of state including Dora, NM, and Oklahoma City, OK, just to name a few.
"We don't mind how long it took us to get here," said a special set of grandparents. "This is time we will cherish forever."
Each grandparent expressed what a joy it was to be a grandparent. The children beamed as they introduced their grandparents to teachers, staff and their friends. Some even teared up as they described what a special bond they had with their grandma and grandpa. The students made sure to let everyone know how important it made them feel to have their grandparents do whatever it took to come spend time with them.
Though the “goodies” were supposed to be all of the delicious snacks, both the children and grandparents felt like the “goodies” were having a good time and making lifetime memories together.
