Hello and welcome to Westwind!
My name is Brandy Copeland, and I am beyond excited to have the opportunity to be a part of the Westwind Elementary family. I am new to the District, and this will be my first year to serve as the Westwind principal. I feel blessed and honored to be able to work with such strong leadership and look forward to linking arms with my new team and helping students and staff continue to improve and achieve our goals together.
While I'm new to Frenship, my roots are here in west Texas. I was born and raised in Snyder and later moved to earn a bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas State University and a Master of Education from Lamar University. I then returned to west Texas to start my teaching career at Midland ISD.
While at Midland ISD, I spent the first nine years of my educational career teaching seventh and eighth grade reading and English and coaching volleyball, basketball, track, and cheer leading. I later served as the Abell Junior High School assistant principal, the Greathouse Elementary principal, and most recently the Goddard Junior High School principal.
After 16 years at Midland ISD, my husband Stacy and I made the move to Lubbock. I'm excited to now call myself a Frenship Tiger and I look forward to getting to know my new Westwind family!
