Have you ever wondered about what bears do in hibernation, why sloths are so slow, or how snakes shed their skin? Ask the second graders at Westwind Elementary, as they wrap up their animal research projects.
Students spent the month of March pouring over books, online resources, and digital books to gather information about their chosen animal. Students created a model of the animal they researched and had the opportunity to create a video presentation. With the help from Angela Howard, the library and media specialist at Westwind, students recorded their presentation in front of a green screen which was then edited to appear as if they were inside the model they made.
Westwind second graders are more than happy to share their new-found knowledge with the district. To watch these amazing presentations, click HERE.
