Frenship Elementaries Join Read Across America

Another goal of this day is to foster a love of reading among the students of America.

Read Across America Day is March 2, in correlation with Dr. Seuss' birthday. Several of the Frenship elementary campuses had a Dr. Suess themed dress up day to encourage students to read.

At Westwind Elementary, kindergarten and first grade students donned their Whoville and Seussified outfits to get in the spirit of reading. Each classroom was themed with a different Dr. Seuss book and collaborating arts and craft. The students made their crafts while the teacher read the correlating book, then they rotated classrooms.

Students at North Ridge Elementary also dressed up in their Seuss outfits while taking time out of the day to read on the floor. Legacy Elementary teachers went the extra mile and made 'Green Eggs and Ham' for the students to taste test.

At Crestview Elementary, students wore their coziest pajamas to school as they “curled up with a good book”. Students who “got caught reading” throughout the day had the chance to win a prize.
