Frenship ISD Celebrated as Lubbock Chamber Business of the Year

During the luncheon, Frenship and the other two districts were honored alongside winners of the Chamber’s Ambassador of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, Businessperson of the Year, Small Business of the Year, and the Chair’s Choice winner.

The ceremony kicked off with beautiful performances by Frenship seniors, including Shelby Stidham who sang the National Anthem while senior Alison Abston signed the National Anthem.

As the Business of the Year, the Chamber highlighted each district’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs that are equipping students for high-wage, high-demand, and high-skill careers.

“Our local school districts make a significant impact on the Lubbock business community by preparing students for the workforce through unique programs and community partnerships,” said the Chamber.

These programs provide students with work-based learning, industry-recognized certifications, career exploration opportunities, and hands-on training designed to meet local job growth and workforce needs. Frenship ISD currently offers 29 state-approved Programs of Study, with over 100 different CTE courses offered to students. During the 2023-2024 school year, Frenship students earned a total of 967 industry certifications through the CTE program.

Congratulations to all the chamber winners and our fellow Business of the Year recipients, Lubbock ISD and Lubbock-Cooper ISD.
