Frenship ISD takes pride in its robust fine arts program, offering students opportunities to explore their creativity and audiences the chance to enjoy exceptional performances. This December featured over 30 remarkable showcases across the district, highlighting student talents in a variety of disciplines.
Dr. Ryan Smith, the Director of Fine Arts at Frenship ISD, shared his admiration for the dedication and effort each student contributed to making these performances extraordinary.
“All K-12 students worked diligently each day to hone their skills of music, dance, and art to focus their creativity and constantly inspire themselves and others,” said Dr. Smith.
At the elementary level, art classes came alive with festive reds and greens as students created holiday-themed artwork. In choir classrooms, students rehearsed their Christmas carols in preparation for holiday music programs for their families. Several elementary honor choirs took their programs on the road, sharing the holiday spirit with local nursing homes and even the Frenship Casey Administration Building.
Each of the four Frenship middle schools featured their choir, band, and orchestra programs with winter concerts held in the evenings. These performances highlighted all the knowledge and skills the students have learned since the beginning of the school year. For many of the students, these performances were the first time they had performed in front of an audience all year.
At the beginning of December, all Frenship High School Fine Arts programs came together for an unforgettable production of Footloose. Read more about Footloose HERE. Throughout the rest of the month, the band, choir, and orchestra program also shined in their individual concerts.
The Frenship High School choir presented their annual Madrigal Dinner in addition to a Holiday concert, highlighting the expansive talents of their students. Band and orchestra students demonstrated their dedication to their craft with their own holiday performances, as well as the TMEA All-Region concert.
The professionalism and craftsmanship displayed at all Frenship Fine Art performances are a testament to the hard work of everyone involved. The students and teachers have a passion for their craft that audiences can feel through each performance.
“Looking at all the performances this semester,” said Dr. Smith. “It is a testament to the teachers who work tirelessly to help these students cultivate a love of fine arts and want to display their talents.”
