With more than 20 years of experience in education, Cathy Barnhill brings a wealth of knowledge, leadership, and a heartfelt commitment to student success to her new role.
“I am thrilled to serve as the new Assistant Principal at Bennett Elementary,” said Barnhill.
Originally from Munday, Texas, Barnhill developed a passion for education early in life. She even has a fun connection to the area; she attended kindergarten at Casey Elementary before moving to Munday.
“After graduating from high school, I moved to Lubbock, where I earned my degree from Texas Tech University. I have proudly called West Texas home ever since,” said Barnhill.
Over the past 22 years, Barnhill has served in a variety of educational roles, including 14 years as a classroom teacher. For the past eight years, Barnhill has served as an assistant principal at both the elementary and secondary levels.
“My leadership is rooted in strong relationships, a collaborative spirit, and a firm belief that every child deserves the opportunity to learn and grow in a safe, supportive environment,” said Barnhill.
Barnhill looks forward to building meaningful connections with students, families, and staff.
“I look forward to partnering with families, supporting teachers, and most importantly, making a positive impact on the lives of students every single day,” said Barnhill.
Outside of school, Barnhill enjoys spending time with her family. She and her husband have four children, four grandchildren, and two bulldogs. In her free time, she loves cooking, painting, and reading a good book.
Welcome to Frenship ISD, Cathy Barnhill! We are excited to see the impact you will make at Bennett Elementary.
